Not everything is for everyone.
Personally I had to learn this concept the hard way, but now it is one of the most valuable lessons of my life. When I draw and sketch for Silently Loud I’m not just thinking about what it is that I would like to see in the world but who I would like to see it on.
Who is my girl?
Where is she?
What is she about?
In business we call this learning your audience. The life of a creative can be difficult; people just don’t understand us. So what? Learn to ignore them, protect your own sunshine and your peace. Not every audience is your audience. I believe once a person realizes this, there after comes peace. As artists, our creations mean everything to us and just like Miss Badu “I am sensitive about my shit”. Do yourself a favor and take note of your surroundings in both business and in life. If you find that what you see just doesn’t reflect you in the best light or reflect you at all, it may be time to readjust.
